Hi PhoneGuy,

Do you know if the discounts and all the rebates of this offer will still be available, if during checkout we have to complete the order with a Sprint Rep over the phone?
I actually don't have a #SSN as I'm an international student, and it appears to be the procedure when you don't have one...
Of course, I can pay a security deposit, but it would be nice if I could still take advantage of this offer...

Thanks for your help!

I am on an Everything data Shared plan. Will the 15% monthly discount work for me using the "Get Discount" button?

The 2-year contract will only  be for whatever number I put in the form, correct?

Thank you

Yes the Everything Data Share Plan does qualify for the 15% discount.  It is an account level discount is applied to all lines of service on the account.  This also measns that all lines on the account will be subject to the new two year agreement.  You can, however, change rate plans at anytime without penalty or extending your contract(s).  Hope this helps.

PhoneGuy,

I would like to second SwOOsH's question.  Me and a friend of mine are also both international students interested in getting the discount with the HTC EVO.  Can I still get the discount despite the security deposit phone call?

Thanks!

So for the international Studentrate Members (with no SSN), you can do one of two things...
1) You can call Sprint directly and see if they will set an account up for you (explain you are an international student)...you may be set up on a Spending Limit Account or you will need to put down a deposit until you establish a credit history with Sprint...HOWEVER, do not order an device or activate any service or you will not be able to take advantage of the Sprint-Studentrate Private/Exclusive deal you see on the site.  Once you have your new account estabished (you will be given a billing account number or BAN) you will be able to place your order through the Studentrate deal on the site.
2) You can send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send back an order form for you to complete and e-mail back to me and I will take care of setting you up and placing your order.

Since this is a Private Sprint Affinity program with Studentrate, the general public doesn't have access to the discounts and deals you see as a member of Studentrate.  The General Sprint Customer Care group will not have access to the appropriate ordering codes required to ensure you receive your discount and rebates/credits etc.

Sorry for the long response, but I wanted to make sure I explained properly...Does this all make sense???

Hello,  also as an fyi, the EVO promo is only for new activations.  Taking advantage of the discount code will not affect your eligibility to upgrade to the EVO.

Also, this is an exclusive Studentrate-Sprint Weborder deal and is not available at Sprint stores or any other Sprint sales channel...only at Studentrate!

Thanks,
PhoneGuy

This is a great deal. When is this discount valid until? My T-mobile contract ends on June 27th and I'd love to take advantage of this.

The sprint deal does not expire.  Only the HTC EVO specific one expires on June 30.

Sorry!  The only way to take advantage of the Studentrate Member deal is to order through the Studentrate deal link.  The good news for you is that the deal includes Free OVERNIGHT shipping.  So if you get your order submitted before 3:00 EST, it will ship that day and arrive the next day (barring any unforseen circumstances!)

Hey no worries Overnight shipping makes this a done deal! Switching from Tmobile with a Family Plan to Sprint for the EVO! I'm super excited!! :-) One last question, is the $50 credit per line or per account?

Thanks for such quick replies. Cheers.

The $50 Credit is for each primary line added...Add-A phone transactions do not qualify.

Every time I check up on this deal I discover more enticing tidbits. Free overnight shipping? Yes, please, thank you!

There has to be a catch, aside from the two year contract and the fact that my town won't get 4G coverage until Q4 2010 (I think/hope). Perhaps Sprint's planning a scheme like Verizon's "non-unlimited plans" (as Engadget put it) for their forthcoming LTE network, or a scheme to hike ETF's like AT&T did recently and Verizon did last year. Hopefully not (the former especially).

With HTC Evo being the best spec'd and most physically attractive phone on the market (for at least six months), and with the already very affordable Sprint Everything Data plan, and the possibility that Matias Duarte may bring the UI sensibilities of WebOS to a future Android update (Gingerbread, please. Although I doubt he'll be fully situated until Hummus, at the earliest), the StudentRate Sprint deal is far too good to pass up.

Thanks StudentRate and Sprint and Google.

The EVO 4G will be avialable on the site on the 4th of June at 12:01 AM.  You can not pre order the site.  But if you place the order on the 4th there will be free overnight shipping.

If I sign up for a new family plan with a friend who works at IBM, can we get both the 25% IBM plan discount as well as the $50/line credit, or are they mutually exclusive?

Edit: Also wanted to thank you guys for the great opportunity regardless of your answer to my question. My significant other and I are both students who are basically stuck paying our own ways through college, and it's nice to see corporations such as Sprint taking an active interest in helping those who are taking the time to get an education.

Sorry I missed the other question.  You can only have one Account level discount applied to a Sprint account at any one time.  So you can't stack discounts...It would be one or the other.

Thanks for answering my question about international students, PhoneGuy!  One more question:

I want to keep my current ATT phone number.  Can I also do that on the Studentrate Sprint website on June 4th, and still get the deal?

Thank you!

I have two questions... 1) Would this discount preclude me from qualifying for Sprint Premier status?

To qualify your base monthly bill (before any add-ons) has to be $69.99 or higher (or $99.99 or higher for Share plans I believe)... If I sign up for the 450 min Everything Data w/Any Mobile Any Time plan the discount would bring the monthly bill below $69.99 (before any add-ons, like the $10 EVO premium, etc.), so does that mean I no longer qualify for Premier status or is Premier status factored before any discounts?

2) If I open a new account w/Sprint at their store and then migrate it to this... What am I missing out on? The waived activation and the $50 credit? Or do I still get a $50 credit on my next bill? I'm not terribly worried about either, I'm most interested in the 15% monthly discount, but I wanna be able to buy my phone locally, hence why I ask.

If it matters at all, I'm currently an AT&T client and will be moving one (or possibly two) lines to Sprint this week. I don't mind having to pay activation in order to be able to buy the phone locally if I can just migrate the account afterward. Just curious how the other $50 credit is applied or what...

EDIT: Nevermind! I think I've figured it out on my own, to get the $50 credit you have to enter an online-only code, so yeah, if I bought my phone locally @Sprint i'd miss out on the $50 credit and the waived activations... I just wanna confirm that I'd still be able to migrate my accounts if I do this tho (even w/an EVO). Reason why I wanna buy locally is because I might end up w/a family plan and one of the lines will be for my sister who's currently working away from home, so I'd like to be able to have her go on her own to the Sprint store and have them activate her phone/line for her once I'm done w/mine.

That would probably be messy if not impossible to arrange online I'm guessing, would need to have each phone shipped to a different address, etc... Even w/o the waived activation and the credit it's a great discount!

You can not get the 15% discount at the sprint store as this is a web only offer.  You can migrate your account after the fact but that requires an extension of your contract (please check the web site under the get discount option).  Let me know if you have any other questions.
