I think somebody at Sprint heard all of us and decided to offer a very decent non-4G Android phone for those that don't live in a 4-G area and don't want to fork over the $10.00 4G data fee.
Rumors have it (according to leaked documents) a non-keyboard and non-4G Samsung Galaxy S series Android phone called Transform is coming to Sprint soon (this is the Samsung Fascinate of Verizon for Sprint). We will be on the lookout and run a special on it. Just an FYI.

It does look like next week (by Oct 10th is the date running through the rumor mill. If it is not available on our private stores which you have access to we will accept preorders or orders for manual processing.

no idea on the price - if i had to guess i would say max 149-199 as the transform is the non keyboard non-4g version and it does not have a front facing camera.

Yes, this is just what I'm looking for! Thanks.
EDIT:
Will it qualify for the 23% student discount?

@erick
I know. I don't want to get the old HTC Hero even if it is $10 less a month!
I would prefer to get a new HTC phone...but if the Samsung Transform is fast like the Vibrant or Epic, then I'll take it. :)

The Samsung Transform is a low end android phone, it does not run stock Touch Wiz like the Captivate, Fascinate, or Epic 4G do, this product is directed towards buyers who are possibly not to heavy as an avid android user or enthusiast. There also is no Wireless N on this phone stock, which is a little weird in my opinion in this day and age.
It does have am 800MHz processor, but they for some reason haven't specified what processor it is using.
This device really isn't comparable to any of the Galaxy S phones out right now, it might be able to achieve a 1GHz Overclock after rooting the device, but I feel it will still perform sluggish in comparison to the Epic, or other Galaxy S phones and even the Evo.
If you're fine with all of this, then go right for it, I just want to make sure people know there will be a LARGE performance difference when comparing the Transform to the Epic, Evo, Captivate, Fascinate, and even the Droid 2.
